I love all my dogs and they are all special in their own way, but every now and then a dog comes along that touches our hearts in a different place. It seems that they are here just for us, guiding and teaching. Shirley MacLaine wrote a book about her little dog Terry and the connection they had. One of my favorite books is Amazing Gracie, about a deaf Great Dane that changed the lives of two men, and helped them create a dog food to save her life, Three Dog Bakery dog food has helped Lady's allergies so much that she's off antihistimines most of the time.
Stanley, who's picture is on the front page of the www.birchbaydogwalk.com , is one of those dogs. He was one of the first dogs rescued by Old Dog Haven and has been a spokesdog for 4 years. He just recently crossed the great divide and I know Judith misses him so much. So I wrote a poem from Stanley to Judith.

For Stanley (from Stanley)

I'm beside you every minute
Each and every day
I came to guide and help you
Along your rocky way

And I'll always stay

Beside me is an army
Of once dark and saddened souls
All grown so much brighter
Your Love has made it so

Each time a Being's pain is lightened
The Earth's Light Shine is brightened
Each bit of Light and Love sent out
Erases pain and darkness

I'm beside you every moment
You can feel me in the Love
Leave the sorrow and the darkness
I'm in the Light of Love

I didn't know you were a poet! What a touching poem.
