Bella is just a little dog, a long legged chihuahua with a thyroid condition and a ratty ear, about 9 years old. She came to us from Old Dog Haven here in Washington State. She doesn't sound like much but she has helped heal my heart. After nine years she ended up in a animal shelter, must have been really scary for a tiny chihuahua. Old Dog Haven rescued her and helped her heal her skin and teeth and feelings in a foster home. Then putting her picture on the internet to find her forever home.
We saw her on the Old Dog Haven website, and besides being a chihuahua (chihuahuas are different you know), she looked so much like my beloved dog who had died in October we were pulled to her.
My little white Chihuahua, Pebbles, had been with us for 13 years. She was adopted from someone who could no longer keep her, the most WIRED dog I've ever seen. Something in her brain wouldn't allow her to hold still, so the first night we had her, I put her in my arm pit, wrapped my arm around her (so we all could sleep), and she slept there for 13 years. When she was gone, I missed her sooo much, just a sadness and something missing. It's so amazing now, when I look down and see this little white chiwaa, I see Pebbles too and it warms my heart.
